þ The SCGA Goes Mobile: The SCGA recently launched a mobile website, mobile.scga.org. From a favorite mobile device, SCGA members can now post scores, access course information, look up Handicap Indexes, calculate Course Handicaps and search the Rules of Golf for instructions and more information, visit scga.org/mobile.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
þ The SCGA Governmental Affairs Department works on behalf of all SCGA member clubs, golfers and the game of golf to represent the best interests of these parties at various legislative and regulatory groups that impact the industry. The Department is engaged with leaders and decision makers at numerous organizations who effectuate change on the golf industry. If your club needs assistance or guidance with various environmental, social, or political issues affecting the club, please reach out to the Governmental Affairs Department at governmentalaffairs@scga.org.
HANDICAP AND MEMBERSHIP
þ Handicap Certification – 2012 Handicap Certification schedule is now available for online registration at www.scga.org.
þ Handicap Certification Class – Wednesday, February 29 – Angeles National Golf Club
þ The SCGA has rejoined the International Golf Network (IGN). As of January 1, members will be able to play in the following locations and post their scores locally: Arizona, Southern Nevada, Chicago District, Indiana, Montana, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Delaware and Louisiana. If you are a multi member with one of these golf associations, please contact the SCGA Handicap & Membership department to link your score files.
