Using Golf Scrip to pay for golf fees....revised 10-10-11
(City announcement Sept. 15, 2011) Effective October 3, 2011, Senior members of our City golf clubs will be eligible for senior rates when playing club events. The Home tournament chairperson is responsible for providing the paper work to the Starter for players in each Home tournament. The Away tournament chairperson will be responsible for any tournaments on week-end dates. In question now… is the Senior rate good for any day the tournament is being played or Monday thru Thursday the City’s regular Senior rate days (And Friday with a bump in fees)? As Home chairperson he will work with the Starter at Woodley Lakes with all issues of the Senior Discounts. I am sure each City Club will be doing the same, if not… they should. The Starter at Woodley will work with us… this way we will be on the same page and if something is not clear, let them follow up on it. NOW FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER… LA City Golf Division gave the WLMGC the opportunity to use our scrip for Golf fees, carts and range balls. This is due to the Pro Shop closing on Oct. 31, 2011. Quoting from email from James Ward, Golf Manager, “As far as the scrip—if it is in your Club’s possession, we will honor it at the City courses for green fees, carts, and range balls”. The Home tournament chairperson suggests the following: 1. Starting in November and until Woodley gets a new vendor in the Pro Shop, our members may use their scrip for green fees only in any tournament at Woodley Lakes golf course. Our Scrip cannot be used to pay a Tournament Entry Fee (per SCGA on amateur status). 2. Regular players— Not using scrip…. Use the Home Tournament Payment Envelope paying $42.00 (check or cash) for your tournament entry and any Side Pots (cash only). 3. Regular Players using scrip for $28.00 Green fees…. sign the back of your scrip and place it in the entry envelope along with any cash totaling $28.00. Circle (Cash or Check only) to pay your $14.00 Tourna-ment entry fee. Put it in the envelope along with any Side Pots (Cash) you enter and put the envelope in the Green box. If you choose to use scrip for your cart or range balls, then check in with the starter. 4. Home Chairperson will give all scrip received and accounted to the Treasurer to deduct from the Prize Liability Account. 1) Seniors/Lifeline Effective Monday, October 3, 2011, senior members of our City Golf Clubs are eligible for Senior Rates and Lifeline Rates when playing Club events. Tournament day procedure for Senior dis-count… Check-in with the Starter individually with your City card. Pay the $19.00 (Lifeline $15.00) fee and get a cart if you are riding. WLMGC Scrip is now acceptable for green fees, cart and range balls. Take your receipt for the $19.00 green fee and put it in the envelope you use to sign-in for the tournament… Circle (Cash or Check only) to pay your $14.00 Tournament entry fee and put it in the envelope along with any side pots you get in and put the envelope in the green box. 2) Chairperson or Treasurer (after finishing your round) collect all scrip used from the starter and pay total scrip amount….
